Jessica & Rodney's cake

Our friends' daughter is getting married tomorrow. So it's late and I just finished the cake. Her aunt was going to make it... but I saw how stressed that makes the aunt at the last wedding which was I think less than 6 months ago... and family should be there to enjoy the day and visit etc. So I told Kaatje (the MOB) that I would be more than happy to make the cake. So she finally agreed to let me, and this was a fun one to do. I got to get some pearl molds (which I let my friend Amy try first! :) So I'd know how they work!) on this cake:
Some day Amy and I will have a bakery where we will have people who bake and do all the grunt work and we will decorate!! :)
So anyway, I got to use some new methods and even though I've got a little case of the "bah-humbugs" right now it was really fun to do this cake. I hope they love it when we deliver it tomorrow! It took me from 4pm til 11pm, only the bottom is real and I put a little orange extract in the chocolate buttercream frosting... IT IS SO YUMMY!!

Christmas time is here!

The kids played their violins at the Dicken's festival this evening. Mya was SO excited that Christmas was EVERYWHERE there! "Look Mom, Christmas!"
She did not however like the idea of visiting Santa Clause. "No, I don't like him." and as we got closer in line... "Let's go home mom!" She survived and got her candy and even waved "bye-bye" to the Jolly Old Elf.

Thanksgiving

Grandma and Grandpa Frahm came down for Thanksgiving! Jen and Ju and I and Mom all made the dinner... we should have invited more people... we've had left overs for days and days... 2 turkeys and a ham is way too much for 10 people!! We ate over at Jen's house and hung out at our house most of the time. Black Friday was crazy again as usual, but still fun to go out and witness it all. Our "stashing" technique didn't work at either Target or Wal-mart... don't they know we're doing THEM a favor? Geez. We'll have to improve on it next year.

I'm waiting for pictures from Dad and or Jen... hint-hint.

Labor of Love

Our hospital here has an annual charity event called The Jubilee of Trees. They raise all sorts of $$$ for all sorts of things for the hospital. I always loved going to see all the trees, ginger bread houses, crafts, Santa. We took the kids to a few Teddy Bear Picnics, I've donated a wreath, Jen and I tried our hand at a ginger bread house (see Nov 2008 post) and I even designed a tree one year... (I'll have to find the picture and post it) Anyway... this year the gingerbread coordinater called me... so I agreed to try again. But I wanted it to be cute, not like my D- project from 2008. So here's what I'll take on Wednesday to donate. Not exactly full of candy, but I think it turned out cute. The kids play with their violin group on Sunday at 6pm... I'll have to wander over and see if anyone purchased it. Brittan is working on a MANSION! I went over tonight and helped with his roof, can't wait to get a picture of his too.

Got the picture! Isn't it great?

Air Show with Troop 489

Daniel has always wanted to take the scouts to the air show and this was the year! They loaded up the 15 passenger van and headed out after breakfast and lunch packing at our house. I love the air show, but Haleigh and McKenna were doing the triathlon so we just let the boys go.
Airplanes!
Celebrities! (Kid Rock - "I wanna be a Cowboy, baby"
I'm glad to have this picture, it reminds me of Michael being about 2 years old and singing that song! :)
combat gear!
Big guns!
The dudes & an F22.
Can you tell Michael and Austin are BFF's? Haha! Twinners!

Turkey Tri

Haleigh talked McKenna into doing a triathlon with her. Haleigh LOVES them! She couldn't wait to share the experience with her BFF... The race didn't start til 2pm, which was nice because it was warm, but icky because it was 2PM!
They both swam really well! I was totally impressed with Haleigh's speed in the water compared to last time!
Another good thing about the race starting at 2pm was that Colleen (and Tara, Travis, Brittan, and Shaye) could make it!

T1
Coming into T2: helmet needs serious adjustment.
McKenna literally "dropped" her bike and almost took off running with her helmet on! I hollered to leave her helmet and she was able to chuck it at me on the way out! :)
Big Finsh!
Once again Haleigh LOVED it! Mckenna's face in this picture pretty much tells how she felt about her first tri. They didn't really train for it, and also hadn't had anything for lunch (I don't think) and so I hope she'll come back out with us in April!

Haleigh's time this race was 17:39:40 She improved her time from 20:42:12 back in April. Way to go HAY!!

Michael's time in April was 17:07:47.... he'd better watch out!

Emma's first birthday cake

Jennifer volunteered to make her niece Emma's birthday cake, and then asked me to help her! She loves Cinderella and although I don't have a blonde doll topper... I think the brunette worked out just fine. :)
