Michael's 1st Klondike!

Michael and ALL his "stuff". It takes alot for a desert rat to stay warm in the snow!

Michael the Cave Man!
This may have been Michael's first klondike, but it certainly wasn't Daniel's first rodeo! This was #5 for him. He's come a long way... now he has a door with a window so he can see out whenever he wants! They lined the fire pit with emergency blankets to reflect the heat back at themselves. It also pre-heated the inside of the leaders cave!

SG new airport

Today was the Grand opening, dedication, and ribbon cutting of our new airport here in STG! It was at 2:00pm so I went to the schools and checked the kids out and Daniel came home and we all headed out... along with the rest of the town! It was madness out there. I don't think that it was so much to see the airport, but that everyone heard that Pres. Uchtdorf was giving the dedicatory prayer. Seriously. Those guys are some SERIOUS celebs down here! :) It was kinda funny because he didn't say anything else but the prayer! I thought it was as it should be, it wasn't a religous event, it was a municiple event and the local leaders are the ones who should do the speaking. It was cool to see him in "real life" though, but to be honest we actually went to see the airport since Daniel had done a bunch of the electical work on the parkway to it. After today you can take off from the old airport on the hill, but you have to land at the new one.
1/22/2011 Since the airport opened it's been really quiet in the sky above our house and downtown. We used to have planes circling around and flying over our house all the time. It's been noticeably quieter.

New Years Day! 2011

It's been our tradition to go bowling and to a buffet on New Years Day. This started one year when Daniel was building wal-mart in Mesquite and had to go down early in the morning to check on some building stuff... we went back to Mesquite quite a few times, but last year just started staying here (where the bowling alley doesn't smell like stale cigarette smoke)

Here is the correct approach for getting a STRIKE!
Haleigh concentrating on not "lobbing" the ball!
Mya's first time bowling!! She loved it... right up until the 10th frame. She was done.
It shows in the score where Daniel took over from Mya and her score jumped from 45 to 74! :)
and yes, I won again.
