Twinner Birthday!

Happy Birthday Daniel and Julie! It's always fun to have a fun birthday day with you guys together! Tonight we went to dinner at the new Brazilian Steakhouse and ate more than we would at Thanksgiving... it was SO good! Julie is 25! And Daniel was born in 1976!

2009 Pinewood Derby

Tonight was Michael's final Pinewood Derby in cubscouts! This is this years model and videos of his 2nd and 4th races of the night. He wanted a Ferrari this year. In true Hansen tradition... he was 1st place, again! Way to go Michael... all your nights in the garage have paid off, now you'll have to do your homework again.

What a face!

Mya makes the darnedest faces sometimes, we were lucky enough to catch this one!

Hansen Shoot Out

Went Shooting this afternoon with Michael and Haleigh. Originally Daniel and Michael were just going to go. But then Daniel asked if I'd like to go. I think he could read it on my face that I didn't really want to stay home and clean the house while they played all afternoon. Then we asked Haleigh if she was interested in learning how to shoot, and she was WAY excited. So we went. It was really fun! BIG thanks to Ju and Jen for letting Mya hang with them.

Everyone shot really well. The .22 rifle was a little heavy for Haleigh and she thought she couldn't even pull the trigger... until Dad noticed the safety was still on. It was pretty funny. Michael is quite the shot with both the rifle and the pistol and Haleigh did hit the target twice with the rifle! :) But even with those two shots she beat me! Until I started shooting left handed, which is correct for me, but I'm right handed so it doesn't come real natural. I do gymnastics left handed too, I know... I'm weird. I like shooting the .38 pistol the best. Still not a great shot with it, but it's got a little more kick than the .22 without making me flinch like the 9mm or knocking me over like the 50 cal! I didn't get any pictures because I was too busy controlling the hair spray, but we also took the potato gun out and launched a few. Now that's entertainment! :)

This was the kids lesson on why we never play with guns... gallon jug full of water= human head.

Mya reads

I catch Mya with books all the time and it's so fun to see her "reading" them. She points to the words and makes the cutest noises. This is the best example I could get with her knowing I was there.

kisses for daddy

Giving Daddy kisses... or checking out the texture of Dad's whiskers with her tongue? Either way it was pretty cute. You can kind of see her tongue sticking out here, once she saw me with the camera she was more interested in me so I never got a real good shot.

Mya Climbs Mt. Boxfullofscoutstuff

It took her a minute to figure it out, and she was very cautious of how to get all the way up, but she did it! She had no fear once she was up there! I caught a good video of her "cliff hanging" and aunt Jen coming in for the rescue. (I'll post it when I find more batteries to get it off the camera!)
