Sunday outting

I get cabin fever really easy... so I don't love Sunday afternoons just laying around the house. What can I say, I'm a goer and a doer. So when Daniel and Michael got home from their scout campout on Saturday and promised to take us out to Gunlock because the falls were flowing and it's really cool, I was SO excited! Of course, in my current condition I had to lay down for a little nap right after church, but we eventually made it out there! :) The water was cold but refreshing and it was about 82 degrees with some cloud coverage so it was perfect.

I'm going to Jump'n Jacks for my birthday!

3 years ago Miss Mya was born. And for the past 3 months she's been telling us, "I'm going to Jump'n Jacks for my birthday" I don't think she realized there would even be friends and presents and a party! :)
Michael and Haleigh and Autumn and Austin even got to come to play with all the "little kids"
No way was this prego lady climbing up there!
After tons of fun at Jump'n Jacks we came home and had a BBQ and banana cake, presents, etc. Then off to Michael's baseball game. It was a little stormy, but only sprinkled on us. Mya didn't notice... she slept on dad's lap during the whole game. :)
Happy Birthday Mya!

A morning with Jen

My mom had a meeting this morning so my aunt Jen hung out with me. She gave me my FIRST french braids... don't I look SO grown up and cute?

AND... she took me to the duck pond in the wagon to feed the ducks! All that fun made me have to go potty so Jen got a work out "running" me back home (almost 2 miles) luckily we made it!
Thanks for the fun morning Jen!

SHAC TRI 2011

The kids participated in the SHAC tri again today. They love it. McKenna joined the fun for her 2nd go around and we're pretty sure she won! Autumn had another knee surgery last year and has been cleared to have some fun now... so she was able to partake of the triathlon fun too. They all had a blast. Like always, I was left wishing I was out there with them. My friend Rachel did this one with me one year when she was pregnant... but I'm older and wiser than her and played my pregnancy card against this one. :)
Of course Haleigh stops mid swim for a photo opp! :) Silly girl... it's a RACE!!

Even Miss Mya got a 3 on her arm... since that's what she's gonna be THIS WEEK!

D & J get a mini VACA

We were fortunate enough to get to fly to Billings, MT to attend the sealing of Daniel's brother Eric to his sweet wife, Cyntia and their kids this weekend. We've really been looking forward to it since they returned from Honduras in October. We're glad we were invited and that Alligiant Air has awesome fares that just so happened to be on Thursday and Sunday! :)
It also just happened to be my old home stakes' Temple day so we ran into lots of people we knew. It's always fun to do that, especially when they aren't expecting to see you so far away from home. Here's all who were in attendence. And below is the ceremonial passing of the clock, pictured chronologically in order of receipt. Cheryl would be between John and Daniel.
Dad was able to come up and join in the festivities with us. Jared made friends fast with him at lunch and it resulted in an arm wrestling dual.
After lunch I hung out with the "mighty hunter" himself, a few weeks prior he had taken his bow up to be restrung, so we went to pick it up and have a new peep put on. Yes, I learned a little about modern archery.
The morning we were to leave... Daniel woke up not feeling well AT ALL! (I was lucky to have time to get in the shower if ya know what I mean) Turns out he and Mirian and Trish all ate something "not so good" at lunch. Luckily he got it all out and we made a run for the airport. We have the best of luck and got stuck with about the last seating session both ways, however on the way back the plane wan't totally full like it was going up... so Daniel and I both ended up with a full row (and a window) all to ourselves. I have to say, I had the best side of the plane, not that it mattered. Daniel drugged himself up and slept almost the whole flight anyway. But I got this picture of the Temple...
And this one of Hoover Dam and the new bridge...

A cake for Chelsi & Jordan

Top: Actual Cake                                                 Bottom: Inspiration
Thank goodness I had to go to SLC yesterday for a business meeing so I was able to stop at Orson Gygi and get some ivory gel. Chelsi wanted lemon... and in my pregnant state I called Curtis Bakery and had them bake the 12' bottom layer. Then today I made a lemon butter cream filling. It's a basic buttercream that I use butter flavored shortening and add lemonade concentrate. It was SO yummy. Sure hope it tasted good with the cake! :) I also picked up a stensil to try my luck at some sort of design like the inspiration cake. It was surprisingly easy. You just stick it to the fondant with a little water and spread royal icing over it. Viola!
Disclaimer: This is also the last cake I will be making while pregnant or for awhile thereafter. If you need my friend Amy's # just give me a call... I will happily refer you to her.
